Day 1: Arrival in Huangshan and Visit to Ancient Villages
Morning: Arrive in Huangshan via train or flight. Head to the Tunxi Old Street in Huangshan City, a historic district lined with traditional Hui-style architecture, where you can stroll, shop for local handicrafts, and enjoy some Anhui street food.
Afternoon: Take a bus or taxi to the Hongcun Ancient Village (around 40 minutes from Huangshan City). Known for its well-preserved traditional architecture, this village is a UNESCO World Heritage site and offers a glimpse into ancient Chinese rural life. Explore the narrow streets and the picturesque South Lake.
Evening: Stay in a local guesthouse in Hongcun for an authentic experience. Enjoy a traditional dinner with local specialties such as stewed soft-shelled turtle or Huangshan braised chicken.
Day 2: Mount Huangshan
Morning: Take a cable car or hike up to Mount Huangshan, one of China’s most iconic mountains. Start at Yungu Station or Tangkou Town, where you can take a cable car to the summit to explore Lotus Peak and Bright Summit for panoramic views.
