Summer (June to August): Summer is the hottest season in Xinjiang, especially in the basin and desert areas, such as the Turpan Basin, where the extreme high temperature in summer can reach over 40℃.But alpine areas such as Tianshan Mountain, Altai Mountain and so on are relatively cool, is a good place to summer. The northern and mountainous regions of Xinjiang receive more precipitation in summer, which is favorable for agricultural and animal husbandry production and ecological restoration.  Summer has long sunshine hours and a large temperature difference between day and night, which is favorable for crop growth and the accumulation of sugar in melons and fruits.

Autumn (September to November): Temperatures gradually drop in the fall, but are generally more pleasant, making it a prime season for tourism in Xinjiang. The northern regions may enter late fall earlier, while the south and east are relatively warmer. Precipitation also begins to decrease in autumn, but autumn rains may still occur in the mountainous regions, which is beneficial for vegetation growth. With clear skies and fresh air, fall is a good time to enjoy the beauty of Xinjiang.

Winter (December to February): Winter is the coldest season in Xinjiang, with more snowfall in the northern and mountainous regions, where temperatures can reach tens of degrees below zero. In contrast, the basin areas in the south and east of Xinjiang are relatively warmer, but there is still a big difference in temperature between morning and evening. Frequent snowfall in the north and mountains is favorable for winter sports such as skiing. Meanwhile, snowfall also helps to alleviate the drought in spring. In winter, Xinjiang is dry with little rain (snow) and many sunny days, but the cold and dry climate brings some inconvenience to people's life and traveling.
