Furong Ancient Town is surrounded by water on three sides, waterfalls through the town. So it's also known as the "Ancient Town of a Thousand Years Hanging from a Waterfall. It is a charming historic town known for its picturesque landscapes and rich cultural heritage. Nestled along the banks of the Tuo River, the town features well-preserved traditional architecture, including wooden stilt houses, ancient stone bridges, and narrow alleyways that reflect the architectural style of the Miao and Tujia ethnic groups.
Furong Ancient Town gained popularity as a filming location for the classic Chinese film "Raise the Red Lantern," adding to its allure for visitors. Visitors can enjoy local cuisine, shop for handicrafts, and participate in traditional cultural activities.
