The Jade Buddha Temple is located at No. 170, Anyuan Road, Putuo District, Shanghai. It is named after the Jade Buddha enshrined in the temple. It is also called the Jade Buddha Zen Temple because it belongs to the Linji School of Zen Buddhism and practices Zen. The Jade Buddha Temple is an imitation Song Dynasty palace building with a rigorous layout, covering an area of about 11.6 acres and a construction area of 8,856 square meters.

Main attractions:

Heavenly King Hall: This is a two-story hall, facing south and slightly to the east. There are three doors on the front, which are the mountain gates of the Jade Buddha Temple.

Main Hall: The Main Hall is the main building in the temple. In the center of the hall is Sakyamuni Buddha, and on both sides are Amitabha Buddha and Medicine Buddha. The three Buddhas are sitting cross-legged on lotus thrones with peaceful expressions.

Jade Buddha Building: The Jade Buddha Building is named after the Jade Buddha it enshrines. This seated Jade Buddha statue is 1.95 meters high and is carved from a single piece of jade.

Hall of Reclining Buddha: It houses a 96-cm-long jade statue of reclining Buddha, showing the posture of Sakyamuni at the time of his nirvana.
