Mount Wuyi has a total area of 99,975 hectares and is located at the border of northwestern Fujian Province and Jiangxi Province. It forms a watershed between the lower Yangtze River tributaries in the north and the Minjiang River basin in Fujian Province in the south. It is the highest mountain range in southeastern China and is known as the "Roof of East China". It has more than 110 peaks over 1,000 meters (the highest peak is Huanggang Mountain, 2,158 meters above sea level). The site consists of four protected areas: Wuyishan Nature Reserve, Jiuquxi Ecological Reserve, Wuyishan National Scenic Area (i.e. Natural and Cultural Landscape Reserve) and Ancient Hancheng Ruins Reserve.
1. Main scenic spots:
Wuyishan Nature Reserve: Wuyishan Nature Reserve is famous for its majestic mountains and biodiversity. It spans three cities (counties) in Fujian Province, Wuyishan, Jianyang, and Guangze, and Qianshan County in Jiangxi Province. It has a total area of 56,527.4 hectares and is the largest nature reserve in Fujian Province.
Jiuquxi Ecological Reserve: Also known as the upstream protection zone of Jiuquxi.
Wuyishan Scenic Area: It is a typical Danxia landform. The unique and rare natural landscape in the area is integrated with the profound cultural landscape. It is a representative of the harmonious unity of human beings and the natural environment.
Ancient Hancheng Ruins Protection Area: This site is the largest and best preserved Han Dynasty city site discovered in southern my country so far. It has high historical, scientific and artistic value and is a rare and important historical and cultural heritage. After more than 60 years of archaeological exploration and key excavations, ruins such as city walls, city gates, palaces, workshops, tombs, etc. have been discovered, and a large number of cultural relics such as pottery, bricks and tiles, ironware, and bronzeware have been unearthed.
2. Main attractions and activities:
Bamboo rafting on Jiuqu River: You can enjoy the beautiful scenery of strange peaks and rocks and shady trees on both sides of the river by bamboo rafting
Tianyou Peak: Tianyou Peak is one of the highest peaks in Wuyi Mountain. You can overlook the panoramic view of Jiuqu River when you climb to the top. It is like a fairyland when surrounded by clouds and mist
Dahongpao Scenic Area: This is the home of the mother tree of Dahongpao, the representative of Wuyi rock tea. The tea garden is beautiful and the tea culture atmosphere is strong.
Wuyi Palace: Wuyi Palace is the historical and cultural center of Wuyi Mountain. It was once a royal sacrificial site in the Song Dynasty. The architecture is simple and elegant.
Water Curtain Cave: Water Curtain Cave is a natural cave with a waterfall like a curtain outside the cave. The cave is cool and quiet, suitable for summer vacation.

Ticket price: 140 yuan in peak season (March to November); 120 yuan in off-season (December to February of the following year)
