Nanputuo Temple is located in the Siming District of Xiamen, Fujian Province. It is one of the most renowned Buddhist temples in the Minnan region, dating back to the Tang Dynasty, with a history of over a thousand years. The temple is nestled against Wulao Peak and faces the beautiful waters of Gulangyu Island. Named "Nanputuo" due to its deep connection to the Guanyin pilgrimage site on Putuo Mountain in Zhejiang and its southern location, it has become a landmark in Xiamen. 1.  Bus:Take bus lines 1, 45, 47, or 100 to the "Xiamen University South Putuo Station," and walk about 3 minutes to reach the temple.

2.  Subway:Take Line 1 to “Zhenhai Road Station,” exit from 3A, then take a 10-minute taxi (approximately 12 RMB) or transfer to a bus.

3.  Walking/Biking:It’s about a 5-minute walk from the main gate of Xiamen University, and you can enjoy the campus scenery along the way.

1.  Avoid visiting on the first and fifteenth day of the lunar month or during Buddhist holidays to skip the crowds.

2.  Be quiet in the temple and avoid photographing Buddha statues.
