Tiger Leaping Gorge is located at the border between Shangri-La City in Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture and Yulong Naxi Autonomous County in Lijiang, Yunnan Province, China. It is a famous gorge in the upper reaches of the Jinsha River, named after a legend that a tiger once leaped across the gorge using a massive rock in the river.
