The Yuanyang Terraces are famous for their spectacular rice terraces, which are known as the “Fairyland on Earth”. The terraces here are like a flowing picture scroll, displaying fascinating colors and changes in light and shadow at different seasons and times of the day. You can watch the terraces shimmer in the morning mist, or enjoy the golden sunlight on the cascading fields at sunset. Yuanyang is not only a marvel of agriculture, but also the birthplace of the local Hani and Yi cultures, where you can experience in-depth the rich ethnic flavors and unique traditional customs.

Opening Time:

The Yuanyang Terrace Scenic Area is open all year round and tourists can come to visit anytime. However, in order to enjoy the most beautiful terraced fields, it is recommended that tourists come between November and April each year, which is the best viewing period of the terraced fields.
