5-Day Private Tour in Guilin

This 5-day itinerary offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural experiences, and leisure in the stunning region of Guangxi, China. The journey begins with a warm welcome and a comfortable stay at a hotel. On the second day, explore the unique culture of the Huangluo Yao Village and marvel at the breathtaking Longji Rice Terraces. Day three takes you to the refreshing Gudong Waterfall, the historic Xingping Ancient Town, the mesmerizing Silver Cave, and the vibrant West Street of Yangshuo. The fourth day features a scenic bike ride along the Yulong River, a visit to the Osmanthus Community, the iconic Elephant Trunk Hill, and the charming Dongxi Alley. The final day includes a trip to the Liu Sanjie Grand View Garden, the Sun and Moon Towers, and concludes with a return journey. This itinerary promises a memorable mix of adventure, relaxation, and cultural immersion.

After arriving, please collect your luggage and walk to the exit. After exiting the station, the station attendant will pick you up with the "guest representative name". After verifying the information, we will arrange a special car to take you to the hotel in Guilin city (about 60 minutes by car). No itinerary is arranged today. If the arrival time is still early, you can move freely in Guilin city.


Guilin city free activities recommended: 

You can explore the popular local food in Guilin and experience the lifestyle of the old Guilin people. Guilin also has a rich and colorful nightlife. You can also walk freely in the Rongshan Lake Scenic Area and check in the Sun and Moon Twin Towers, the Ancient South Gate, the Millennium Banyan Tree, and the Crystal Glass Bridge.(During the free activities, no car, no tour guide)

Explore the world's first long-hair village - Huangluo Yao Village (about 40 minutes, excluding the long-hair village performance, 60 yuan/person), taste oil tea, watch singing and dancing performances, and appreciate the Yao girls' long hair; enjoy the group long-hair dressing, ethnic singing and dancing performances. The only Yao village among the thirteen villages of Longji, inhabited by all the Red Yao people.

The Longji Rice Terraces, a large-scale terraced field group, is a large-scale terraced field group in Guilin. The layers of curves are very magnificent. When you come to Longji Rice Terraces, you can mainly hike to see the scenery and take photos, and you can also try the local farm dishes. The terraces change with the seasons. In spring, they are like silver ribbons, in summer, they are like green waves, in autumn, they are like golden pagodas, and in winter, they are like ice steps. You can also go deep into the local villages to appreciate the simple folk customs and the superb skills of the stilt houses, and appreciate the unique customs of ethnic minorities.


Tips:

There are several villages in Longji Rice Terraces, such as Jinkeng Village and Pingan Village. Among them, Jinkeng Rice Terraces is located at a higher altitude. It takes about 3-4 hours to walk up and down the cable car. The round-trip cable car fare is 100 yuan per person, and the cost is at your own expense. The round-trip sightseeing bus for Pingan Village Observation Deck is 50 yuan per person, and the cost is at your own expense. You can also choose to walk to the observation deck.

Climb the only climbable waterfall in China - Gudong Waterfall (about 120 minutes). The only climbable waterfall in China, close contact with Guilin's landscape, the benevolent love mountains, the wise love water, the uniqueness of Gudong comes from people's carving and participation in nature, Gudong Waterfall, a waterfall that can be touched closely, a waterfall that can be climbed.

Xingping Ancient Town was first built in the first year of Ganlu in the Three Kingdoms period (265 AD), with a history of more than 1,700 years. It is one of the birthplaces of Yangshuo County, has witnessed countless historical changes, and carries a rich cultural heritage.(Note: If you do not want to stroll, you can choose to take a cruise or bamboo raft to tour the Li River. The cruise is 85 yuan/person, the bamboo raft is 480 yuan/raft, and the battery car round trip is 40 yuan/person. The cost is at your own expense).

Sliver Cave (visit time is about 70 minutes), Sliver Cave is a typical karst landform, running through twelve peaks. It is a layered cave. The cave gathers stalactites developed and grown in different geological periods. It is known as the most beautiful cave in Guilin. The cave gathers stalactites that are tens of meters high, majestic, strange, secluded and beautiful, like silver and diamonds.

At night, you can freely stroll in the Yangshuo West Street, which is without a country and full of enthusiasm (no car and no tour guide) (the best time to visit West Street is after 21:00)

Enjoy the Ten Mile Gallery by bike and visit the Yulong River (biking time is about 120 minutes). The Ten Mile Gallery in Yangshuo is located on National Highway 321 in Yangshuo County, Guilin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The road is surrounded by mountains and picturesque scenery, so it is called the Ten Mile Gallery in Yangshuo. Along the road, there are mountains and peaks on both sides. The peaks are of different shapes, some like screens, some like castles, and some like screws. They are particularly spectacular against the backdrop of blue sky and white clouds.

Experience the osmanthus culture. Osmanthus Commune is located at No. 18, Yangjiang Road, Xiufeng District, Guilin City. It is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction that integrates osmanthus culture experience, research and practice, tourism, leisure and vacation.

Visit Elephant Trunk Hill (AAAAA-level scenic spot, visiting time is about 50 minutes). The city emblem of Guilin is named after it resembles a giant elephant standing by the river and stretching out its trunk to drink the sweet spring water of Li River.

Take a stroll through the landmark of Guilin city - Dongxi Lane. Located in front of the Zhengyang Gate of Jingjiang Wangcheng, Dongxi Lane is the only historical alley left from the Ming and Qing dynasties in Guilin.

Liu Sanjie Grand View Garden (visit time is about 90 minutes) Guilin Liu Sanjie Grand View Garden, formerly known as Guilin Liu Sanjie Landscape Garden, is a national AAAA-level ethnic tourism scenic spot that showcases Liu Sanjie culture and the cultural classics of various ethnic groups in Guangxi.

Sun and Moon Towers (climb the towers, the tour time is about 60 minutes) The history of the Sun and Moon Towers can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty. They were rebuilt in 2001 on the basis of the Tang Dynasty pagodas. In the Sun and Moon Towers Underground Palace Museum, Buddhist artifacts unearthed from the Tang Dynasty pagodas are also exhibited, among which the most precious unearthed Buddhist artifact is the "Twelve Zodiac Royal Secret Code".

End of the trip: According to the flight/train time, take a flight from Guilin Airport/take a train from Guilin Railway Station to return, ending the pleasant journey and returning.

Independent travel by train in China…
Independent travel by train in China can be daunting ordeal. We decided to use Intoexplore for booking the trip and are very happy we did. It almost felt like Norman was a family member guiding us through how to use Alipay for payments in China to where to find the ticket office in the train station to convert digital tickets to paper.
