4+ stars Hotel
Breakfast
After breakfast, we will begin our journey at the Humble Administrator's Garden, the largest and most renowned classical garden in Suzhou. Built during the Ming Dynasty, the garden features a perfect combination of pavilions, winding corridors, ponds, rockeries, and lush vegetation. It is a masterpiece of traditional Chinese landscape design, offering a poetic and peaceful environment that reflects the essence of Jiangnan (south of the Yangtze River) culture.
From the garden, we will walk to Pingjiang Road, a historic canal-side street that dates back more than 800 years. As you stroll along the stone-paved lanes beside the tranquil waterways, you’ll encounter tea houses, small museums, traditional houses, and local artisans. It’s the perfect place to immerse yourself in Suzhou’s old-world charm and take in the leisurely rhythm of local life.
Next, we will drive to Jinji Lake, a modern landmark of Suzhou located in the eastern part of the city. This vast urban lake combines natural beauty with futuristic urban planning. Take a relaxing walk along the lake promenade or enjoy views of modern architecture, sculptures, and art installations along the waterfront.
Our final stop of the day is the iconic Gate of the Orient, a striking skyscraper shaped like a giant archway. Often referred to as the "Pantyhose Building" by locals, it symbolizes Suzhou’s gateway to the world. You can admire its unique structure and panoramic views of the city skyline, especially as the sun sets over Jinji Lake.
Evening Option:
In the evening, consider watching the "Water Show at Jinji Lake", a dazzling fountain performance set against a backdrop of lights and music. Alternatively, you may take a relaxing night cruise on the lake to enjoy the illuminated skyline of Suzhou Industrial Park. Performances and cruises typically start around 19:30.
